Final Preparation Period

After three long weeks of attempting to side our house we left for Sacramento, California from La Grande, Oregon at 5:00AM on August 25th, 2010, on a grueling 12 hour car ride. Our time spent in Sacramento will be the staging period for the bike trip. We are gathering necessary supplies and making the final preparations for our three and a half month journey on fixed gear bicycles.

Thank you everyone in La Grande and all over the world who have helped us through donations, support, and supplies to get us to this point in our journey. A special thanks goes out to Dick and Sandy who hooked us up with the first three days’ worth of meals. We are excited to get the trip underway by completing equipment needs and outfitting the fixed geared bikes for the trip. At this point the audacity of the trip has set in as our nerves are beginning to tighten, muscle fibers firing and tunnel vision clouding everything except the mission ahead.
